All Saints’ Church of England Primary School Putney

Rooted in Faith, Growing through Learning

Ash Wednesday

On Wednesday, the whole school marked the beginning of Lent and our journey towards Easter with a special worship for Nursery,  Reception, Y1 & Y2 and then our KS2 Eucharist.  They were wonderful experiences and it was a privilege to ash the children, alongside Rev’d Daniel.  The children also took a great deal from it.   Ms Wood

Ash Wednesday is a special day because it's after pancake day and it's the start of Lent. Reverend Daniel put ashes on our foreheads in the shape of the cross. Emanuel—Y2

We wrote what we are sorry for and then Reverend Daniel burnt the pieces of paper and used it to ash our foreheads. We sang a song about some things I wish I hadn't said, done and thought. Judah—Y2
