  • Y6 MONEYSENSE WORKSHOP

    Fri 19 May 2023

On Monday, Garry from Nat West Bank came to talk about how to keep your money safe. We were split up into groups to solve a mystery about someone who had her identity stolen and it was used to take out a loan, without her knowing it. With the skills that Garry taught us, we were able to find out how her identity was stolen. It was so fun and Y6 really enjoyed it.

I told my mum and dad that they really need to be careful when putting in their PIN at the cash point.

I told my dad about how he shouldn’t fall for online scams and check that it really is his bank.  By Darcey & Ahmed—Y6

  • Y6 WORKSHOP—LORDS ONLINE

    Fri 19 May 2023

On Monday the 15th, we met Baroness Garden of Frognal in a live meeting. Susan Elizabeth garden supports the Liberal Democrat’s and is Deputy Speaker in the House of Lords. Her husband Lord Garden is also in the House of Lords. The Baroness’s 2 grandsons attended All Saints many years ago. When we were talking to her, she told us that she was really glad that our school is still in good shape.

She kindly let us ask as many questions as we wanted. Some great ones were:

Q Did you always want to be a Baroness?

A No, but I was always interested in education.

Q Do you want to be Prime Minister?

A No, it would be too much work.

Q If there was one thing you could change about the world, what would it be?

A Everyone would have to be kind to each other.

We found the meeting very inspiring and insightful. We got to learn more about her and Parliament. It was a fascinating meeting which was helped by the fact we have been to the Houses of Parliament.

  • Coronation Celebrations

Fri 12 May 2023 Ms Wood

What a wonderful coronation celebration we had;  it was a real pleasure to join forces with the pupils and staff of St Mary’s, for a picnic lunch and traditional games and activities.   We were delighted to welcome the Worshipful the Mayor of Wandsworth, Councillor Jeremy Ambache, who bravely joined a game of rounders on the common.  We were also thrilled that our MP, Fleur Anderson was able to find time in her hugely busy timetable to once again visit us—she too took part in the rounders game!
