Welcome to Reception’s class page. The class teacher is Mrs Grantcharova, assisted by Mr I.

P.E. Days

In Reception, our P.E. days are Thursday and Friday.

On these days, pupils should come to school wearing their P.E. kit and may remain in it for the full day. Please ensure your child has the correct school P. E. kit and footwear, all clearly labelled. They need navy blue shorts, yellow t-shirts (with school logo), PE socks and plimsolls/trainers. During the winter they also need tracksuit bottoms.

  

  

The Reception Curriculum

There are seven areas of learning and development which are equally important and interconnected.

Three Prime Areas:-

• Communication and Language
• Physical Development and
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Four Specific Areas:-   

• Literacy
• Mathematics
• Understanding of the World
• Expressive Arts and Design

Every day, the children need to bring to school their coats, water bottles, and plastic folders containing their reading books. The folders need to be checked by an adult when they return home each night, for correspondence. In the summer they need sun hats.

If you are asking someone else to collect your child from school we must have a letter informing us.

The children will begin to attend assemblies after half term.
